About EVenture
How do we develop sustainable transportation solutions – and integrate electric vehicles into future energy systems?
In DTU’s Blue Dot project DTU EVenture, students work on developing advanced solutions within electric mobility and energy technology. As part of the project, the team designs, builds, and tests a fully electric race car, gaining hands-on experience with technological innovation and engineering in practice.
DTU’s EVenture team, Vermilion Racing, participates in the annual Formula Student UK competition at the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit. Here, DTU competes against more than 100 university teams from around the world. The cars are evaluated on performance, engineering design, and business understanding.
The project is part of DTU’s Blue Dot initiatives, where students work hands-on with innovation and solve real-world challenges.
Who can join?
EVenture is open to students from all DTU study programmes. You can participate through dedicated courses or by integrating your Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis into the project..
What will you gain?
As part of EVenture, you contribute to building a fully electric race car from scratch and gain experience with the entire development process – from idea to finished solution.
You will build competencies in:
- Design, construction, and testing of advanced technical systems
- Project management, planning, and risk management
- Collaboration with sponsors and external partners
- Approvals, safety, and technical requirements
You will also work with key technologies such as:
- Traction batteries
- Vehicle control systems and software
- Drivetrains
- Suspension
- Aerodynamics
The project provides hands-on experience with engineering in an environment that closely reflects industry, where both technical and organizational competencies are essential.
