About RAVEN

How do we develop autonomous systems that can meet future needs in areas such as transport, logistics, and production?

In DTU’s Blue Dot project RAVEN (Robotics, Autonomous Vehicle Engineering & Navigation), students work on developing advanced unmanned and autonomous systems, with a particular focus on drone technology.

The project combines mechanics, electronics, software, and artificial intelligence, transforming theoretical knowledge into concrete, functional solutions.

As part of the project, the RAVEN team builds and tests a fully integrated drone equipped with sensors, communication systems, and software for perception, planning, and control. The team competes in the international Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) Competition, where university teams from around the world develop drones capable of solving complex real-world tasks.

The project is part of DTU’s Blue Dot initiatives, where students work hands-on with innovation and solve real-world challenges..

Who can join?

RAVEN is open to all DTU students - whether your interests lie in robotics, programming, mechanical design, or project management.

You can participate through specialized courses or by integrating the project into your Bachelor’s project or Master’s thesis.

RAVEN is open to all study programmes at DTU.

International competition: CSU – California Unmanned Aerial Systems Competition (C-UASC)

ECTS points:. DTU offers project courses on drones that provide ECTS credits. You can also integrate your bachelor’s or master’s thesis into the project.
